Accomplished Business Development and seasoned Sales Professional Manager with over 40 years of experience in the Food Industry, Specifically Bakery, Foodservice and Confectionery sectors. Am used to dealing at every level, factory or shop floor to board.

Integral, pragmatic, dedicated, but above all am highly passionate about the industry I have served for 4 decades.

Credible and focused on whatever the challenge, sourcing, research, sales, problem solving, operational and finding solutions to meet the customer’s needs. Results driven and determined to achieve, a driven individual with a willingness to learn, always keeping an open mind and not frightened to step outside the box and look at the bigger picture.

Worked in many aspects and area’s:

  • Pan European – creating a portfolio of Bakery ingredients for 7 European country’s
  • Middle East – VP of the Foodservice division of the largest food distributors in Saudi Arabia
  • Bakery – Sourcing and selling bakery ingredients as well as freezer to oven and thaw and serve products
  • Confectionery – introducing new product concepts into the UK & Irish markets
  • Business Development – Researching and Identifying potential new opportunities then turning them in to sustainable business ventures
  • Key Account Management – International Special Recognition Award for Key account management of one of the largest food franchises in the world operating within the UK & Irish markets
  • Channel Islands – sourced and developed a market for major ingredient and finished goods from around Europe, looking after both B2B and B2C business throughout the Isles
  • Project Management – project managed the production of sauces from Canada to Holland
  • NPD – worked on many NPD projects throughout my career working with producers, suppliers, development teams and buyers
  • Creation of own Consultancy Business – Built a successful consultancy from the ground up, cultivating loyal client and referral bases, whilst forging win-win relationships with key decision makers and influencers in various food sectors

On a personal note, I was born in England, but throughout my career, I have worked Regionally, Nationally and Internationally. My passions are Food, Football and Formula 1. I write Poetry, having several works published and am a professionally trained Life Coach. Just an insight as to who Steve Hay is and why I am so passionate about what we do at Elite, which is helping companies find route to market with products that fall within our ethos, as described within this website and to service companies in the UK & Irish markets helping them with whatever their/your needs are.

An extensive Technical background, spanning all aspects of Food Manufacturing. Possess Account Management, B2B sales and Business Development reaping much success over my 37 years in the Food Industry.

Mark Blacker

Digital & Traditional Marketing

Digital marketing specialist and food professional, that has been working in the food industry for over 30 years.

With a qualified background as a chef, baker, patissier, and chocolatier, I have the perfect base and in-depth knowledge to understand the intricate marketing requirements of the food sector.

I have an entrepreneurial and detailed mindset that can manage precise requirements and specific directions. I have owned, opened, and run 7 bars and restaurants across both the UK and France.

I have a can-do attitude to everything I am involved with and transitioned into Marketing whilst working in the foodservice sector as The “Marketing Director” of a large commercial “Contract Catering Company”, based in the Home Counties.

The company was running 250 catering contracts, across 6 specific niche sectors and working with a combined brigade of over 500 chefs.

Alongside my role with Elite as the Marketing Director, I also run a full-service digital UI/UX agency based in Cannes in the south of France.
